Mickey Mouse Recreates A Christmas Classic

Mickey Mouse is getting his Kevin McCallister on in a brand-new Christmas film coming to Disney+ this holiday season. Disney just announced Mickey’s Home Alone, an animated special that features new songs from America’s favorite mouse.

The movie follows the exact template of the 1990 original, and at first glance, Mickey’s Home Alone looks incredibly promising. The setup is a fun, nostalgic nod: Mickey is looking forward to a cozy Christmas at home, but his plans get upended when Minnie surprises the gang with tickets to a world-famous Ice Palace. In the chaotic morning rush to leave, Mickey and Pluto are accidentally left behind.

What follows is a festive showdown, with Mickey and Pluto defending the house from a pair of feisty villains—a raccoon and a weasel—who are dead-set on stealing their Christmas dinner. Meanwhile, Minnie and the crew are in a frantic race against time to get back home. On the music side, expect some great holiday energy with a score by Tony Morales, a new arrangement of “Jingle Bells,” and original songs “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favorite Christmas Feeling” by songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin.

Expect this one to hit Disney+ during the holiday season.
