The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System Part 2: Trailer, Cast, and Release Details

Studio GoHands is heading back into the dungeon. Following the mid-season battle against Malice, The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System Part 2 is officially rolling into the Fall 2026 anime season on Crunchyroll.

Along with a fresh key visual, the production team dropped a packed promotional video showcasing the city of Lacoryna, four new cast members, and preview clips for both the new opening and ending tracks.

If you have been keeping up with the manga in Kodansha’s Young Magazine, you know this is where the world expands rapidly. If you are anime-only, get ready for raid dynamics, high-tier sword masters, and GoHands’ signature dynamic camerawork pushed into overdrive.

Watch the Part 2 Trailer: The Road to Lacoryna

The newly released PV picks up right after the brutal showdown with Malice. Elymas and Ruche arrive in Lacoryna, known throughout the world as the city of adventurers.

The first half of the trailer runs behind the new ending theme, “Contemporary Dance” by PompadollS, rolling through quick introductions for the newcomers: Hilde, Maebel, Kelt, and Carlos. From there, the tempo spikes. The second half cuts straight into the opening theme, “Rewrite the Answer” by hololive VTuber Tokoyami Towa.

Visually, GoHands is leaning hard into its trademark 3D background sweeps, particle effects, and kinetic combat angles. Elymas pops his skill <Dragonrage Deathgaze>, setting up the high-stakes battles waiting in the upcoming raid quest.

The artwork is stellar. As an artist it’s inspiring realistic and believable to make me want to keep watching and watching.

New Cast Members Joining Part 2

Four adventurers join Elymas and Ruche as they take on higher-difficulty quests in Lacoryna.

Here is who is joining the cast list for Part 2:

  • Carlos (Voiced by Kengo Kawanishi): An A-rank Magic Swordsman feared and respected as the “Black Flame Blade.” Kawanishi brings cool restraint to a character whose true motives stay hard to read.
  • Hilde (Voiced by Misaki Kuno): A B-rank Magic Swordsman who claims to be Carlos’s top apprentice. Fun trivia for sharp-eared viewers: Kuno voiced the guild receptionist back in Part 1.
  • Kelt (Voiced by Kosuke Tanabe): A B-rank Hunter who teams up with Elymas for the raid quest.
  • Maebel (Voiced by Tsugumi Sakuragi): A C-rank Priest whose soft-spoken nature hides ironclad resolve.

Voice Actors Report Fully Finished Animation in the Booth

One fascinating detail emerged from the cast comments: voice recording did not happen over rough line pencil tests.

Both Kosuke Tanabe and Kengo Kawanishi noted that when they stood in front of the microphone, the animation footage was essentially finished and rendered in near-complete color. In modern TV anime production, voice actors frequently record against rough sketches, timing bars, or unfinished storyboards due to tight delivery windows.

Having polished animation ready in the booth allowed the cast to sync micro-expressions and fight choreography with unusual precision.

The Part 2 Theme Songs: hololive Rock and Viral Powerhouse PompadollS

The soundtrack shift for Part 2 leans heavily into alternative rock.

Opening Theme: “Rewrite the Answer” by Tokoyami Towa

The new opening track comes courtesy of hololive production VTuber Tokoyami Towa. Produced by Takuya Yamanaka of THE ORAL CIGARETTES, “Rewrite the Answer” leans straight into Towa’s raspy, powerful lower register.

Towa noted that she has been following Elymas’s journey closely, relating to his stubborn optimism and his ability to turn what others call a garbage build into an unstoppable combat engine.

Ending Theme: “Contemporary Dance” by PompadollS

Handling the ending theme is Tokyo rock outfit PompadollS. The trio (vocalist/guitarist Goju Igarashi, guitarist Rentaro Aoki, and pianist Kaoru Tajima) burst onto the scene in early 2024. Their breakthrough single “Akushoku (Gluttony)” pulled over 10 million TikTok plays and topped Spotify Viral charts across East Asia.

Vocalist Goju Igarashi explained that the track explores the struggle of living with the traits you were born with, a sentiment that fits Elymas being cast out of House Edvaughn after drawing what his family considered a defective class.

What Is The Exiled Heavy Knight About?

For newcomers dropping in ahead of Part 2, the story follows Elymas Edvaughn, born the heir to a legendary lineage of Master Swordsmen.

During his divine Baptisma ceremony, Elymas fails to receive an offensive sword class. Instead, he manifests as a “Heavy Knight,” a slow tank class widely discarded as defective because its low offensive stat growth makes conventional solo leveling nearly impossible. Disgraced and stripped of his succession rights, his father exiles him on the spot.

What the family does not know is that the trauma of the ceremony unlocks Elymas’s memories of his past life as an obsessive player of Magic World, the exact VR game this reality is built upon. Elymas knows the hidden mechanics, skill synergy tables, and exploit loops. In the game’s actual meta, the Heavy Knight is not weak. It is the single most broken, unkillable class in existence when built correctly.

Armed with min-max knowledge and joined by the paladin Ruche, Elymas sets out to power-level through the game world on his own terms.
